What's missing
Where the app can't follow a rule to the letter yet, its notes say so, and say how to allow for it when you enter your hours. From this page's agreements:
- Nevada prints no apprentice rates, so apprentices aren't built in (use Enter my own rate), and the next step isn't known: after June 30 2027 type your new rate under Enter my own rate.
- Labor Day worked is triple time, but the app pays double time, so a worked Labor Day shows less than your stub; the schedule says overtime is paid on the 'total taxable wage', which seems to include a vacation amount it doesn't print, so the app figures overtime on the wage alone and your stub may be a little higher.
- The app treats every night as a 2nd shift, so a 7-hour 3rd shift gets 7.47 hours' pay instead of 8.
- The schedule doesn't say whether a holiday on a Saturday or Sunday moves, so the app leaves it on its date (Independence Day 2026 on Saturday July 4), and whether a holiday not worked is paid isn't printed, so the app pays nothing for it.
- The 8-hour minimum isn't worked out.
- With nothing typed, nothing comes off for dues, so take-home here is higher than your stub until you do.
Enter your own hours in the Carpenter app: it applies these rates, the overtime and holiday rules, dues and tax, and keeps a year of paychecks. Free for a month.
A number on this page is wrong? Report a wrong rate: it opens the app's feedback box with this page named, no email needed.
Between jobs? Open the job-call board: public union hall job calls from across the US in one place, rebuilt every night.
Your agreement isn't here? Send us your agreement from the app's Settings tab. If the app doesn't have it yet, you get a free year when it's added.
