What's missing
Where the app can't follow a rule to the letter yet, its notes say so, and say how to allow for it when you enter your hours. From this page's agreements:
- The overtime, shift and holiday rules are the Comptroller's, written for public work; private work under the agreement may differ in ways the notices don't show. Work under the National Maintenance Agreement, the International Agreement or another national agreement has its own rules and isn't built in yet.
- Each notice runs six months; the app keeps the July 1 2026 rates after December 31 2026 until the next notice is out: then type your new rate under Enter my own rate.
- The schedule doesn't say how overtime works on a 4×10 or its Friday; the app pays hours 11 and 12 at time and a half then double, and the Friday like a Saturday. It names no make-up day, so don't tick Make-up day.
- Hours 9 and 10 of a night shift should be double time and the app pays them at time and a half, and the vacation and the pension memo for a night's first 8 hours stay at the straight-time amount.
- The app counts those 4 hours as worked, and the schedule doesn't say when a weekend holiday is observed, so the app uses the national rule, a Saturday holiday on the Friday before and a Sunday one on the Monday after (Independence Day on Friday July 3 2026; Christmas 2027 on Friday December 24).
- Contributions are on hours paid rounded up to the next half hour; the app uses the hours you enter, rounds the time-and-a-half amount half up to the cent, and gives a foreman the journeyman's vacation.
- The app uses the July 1 2026 work assessment for earlier weeks and counts both on hours worked; the notices mark International Organizing taxable without saying whether it comes off your pay or is paid by the employer, so the app takes it off (if your stub doesn't show it, your take-home is $0.22 an hour higher). Monthly dues are paid to the local yourself, so they aren't on the check.
Enter your own hours in the Ironworker app: it applies these rates, the overtime and holiday rules, dues and tax, and keeps a year of paychecks. Free for a month.
