What's missing
Where the app can't follow a rule to the letter yet, its notes say so, and say how to allow for it when you enter your hours. From this page's agreements:
- The sheet prints the taxable rate only for journeymen, so the app works out the others' the same way (base + dues check-off + building fund).
- Local 400's overtime and holiday rules aren't published. The app uses the most common pattern in the agreements that publish theirs: past 8 hours a day Monday to Friday and every Saturday hour are time and a half, with no step to double time on a weekday; Sundays and holidays are double time. Five 8-hour days only (any 4×10 rules aren't published); enter the hours you're paid for, not an unpaid lunch. Check overtime against your stub. The app works the overtime premium on the base rate, not on the dues and building fund that ride in the taxable rate: a journeyman's time and a half is $54.61 + half of $52.00 = $80.61.
- The holiday list isn't published either, so the app marks the six holidays every pipe trades agreement read for this app has: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas, each on its own date (one on a weekend doesn't move), unpaid unless worked and double time when worked. Tick Holiday on any other day your job observes.
- Shift premiums and per diem aren't published, so none are added.
Enter your own hours in the Pipefitter app: it applies these rates, the overtime and holiday rules, dues and tax, and keeps a year of paychecks. Free for a month.
